Can Lightsabers Cut Beskar? ›

While a lightsaber blade can easily slice through a solid steel door or withstand a blaster attack, Beskar's armor is virtually unscathed by a similar attack. For example, the Jedi might need to find their regular tactics more effective in confronting a lightsaber-wielding Jedi and a Mandalorian clad in Beskar armor.

Beskar, also known as Mandalorian iron or Mandalorian steel, was an alloy that was used in Mandalorian armor and was notable for its high tolerance to extreme forms of damage. In its purest forms, the metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot and could repel lightsaber strikes.

Like other typical lightsabers, the Darksaber could not cut through pure beskar, however, it was capable of heating it to the point of turning red.

This has not been confirmed by canon yet, but it is the likely reason, seeing as the only weapon that could absolutely destroy beskar - or at least the person wearing it - is the Arc Pulse Generator.

It's unable to be affected by blaster bolts and even lightsaber strikes. However when a lightsaber is held up against beskar, the beskar begins to melt. But as the movies have established there's no limit to the power of the force.

The 2018 canon reference book Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition states that Fett's armor was made of durasteel. However, the fourth episode of the television series The Book of Boba Fett establishes that the armor is made of beskar.

Cherished for its incredible strength and durability, beskar was notable for being able to withstand blows from even a lightsaber, and was commonly thought to be nearly indestructible, making beskar more prized than durasteel or cortosis.

Crucially however, Damascus steel and Wootz steel both display very similar wavy patterns to Beskar steel.

Beskar seems to have attributes of both but is still light enough to allow fast movement, but strong enough to stand up to crazy damage output weapons ( Darksaber). . So, heavy armor/tanks etc should choose Adamantium.

ANY LIGHTSABER can heat up Beskar. Seriously, the only thing special about the Darksaber when compared to other lightsabers is the appearance and significance to Mandalorian culture. Functionally it is identical to any other lightsaber. And yes, given enough time, lightsabers can slowly cut through beskar.
