The Jawa faction finally has value in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Nearly 4 years since the game’s launch, the value of Jawas in SWGoH may have never been as high as it is today. The recent rework of the Geonosian faction has made the bugs one of the hardest teams to beat in the game, but creative minds have already found a way to stop them – Jawas. Taking advantage of the Jawa Scavenger’s unique ability Line in the Sand which reads “Whenever a Jawa ally takes damage, 50% chance to place a Thermal Detonator on the attacking enemy that will explode after 2 turns.” What this ends up doing is it takes the Geonosian’s extra attacks and uses it against them, at least in PVP battles against Jawas.
Multiple videos on this topic have been produced already from Operation Metaverse, Mobile Gamer, AhnaldT101 and more, and Ahnald is recommending low speed and high Protection for the Jawas when it comes to the best mods for these characters. It also got a response from Capital Games that includes their intent NOT to nerf this but simply to clarify the wording as indicated here.
Since the original publication of this article I have been able to test out Jawas as a counter to Geonosians in the Grand Arena Championships and Territory Wars and have gone 3 for 3 with my Gear 10 & 11 Jawas. Feel free to click the link to see the video for details.
